Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your Benny account and all of the personal data associated with it at any time. Do it yourself in the app, or email us and we'll handle it for you.
Option 1 — Delete it in the app
- Open Benny and go to Settings.
- Tap Account, then Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account and its data are removed straight away.
Option 2 — Email us
Send a request to info@thebennyapp.com and include the following, so we can verify the request is yours:
- Subject
- Account Deletion Request
- In the message
- The email address associated with your Benny account, so we can find and verify it.
What gets deleted
- Your account profile: email address, display name, and sign-in details.
- Your app content: chores, routines, schedules, reminders, notes, and any homes you created.
- Your app preferences and notification settings.
- Your gamification data: Sponge Points, streaks, levels, pet customisations, and shop purchases.
- Associated usage and installation identifiers held in our analytics and crash reporting.
How long it takes
Emailed requests are actioned within 30 days of us receiving them. Copies held in backups and by our infrastructure provider are fully purged within 180 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Records of transactions and subscriptions may be retained for longer where we are required to keep them for financial, tax, or other legal compliance. Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, so cancel yours there before deleting your account — deleting your Benny account does not cancel an active subscription.
